The Illinois State Historical Society, established in 1899, is a statewide not-for-profit organization that fosters the promotion, study, and appreciation of Illinois.

The Centennial Awards Program honors Illinois enterprises that have achieved or surpassed the century mark in continuous operation.  It celebrates their contributions to Illinois and honors the preeminence of Illinois firms in the nation's economy and culture. Award winners receive a one-year membership in the Society, a commemorative plaque, and the exclusive use of the Centennial logo.
