Call for Papers

The Illinois State Historical Society’s 29th Annual Illinois History Symposium, cosponsored by Illinois College in Jacksonville, will be held March 26-28, 2009. The theme is “Abraham Lincoln in Ante-Bellum Illinois: 1830-1861,” and proposals will be accepted through September 30, 2008. Proposals on other aspects of Illinois history will also be considered. Professional historians, teachers, graduate and undergraduate students, and history aficionados are encourage to submit a one-page summary of their topic, along with a brief bio, to:
