The DuPage County Historical Museum’s current exhibit, 1917: Catalyst for the Modern Era, explores the world as it appeared 100 years ago. It describes American participation in WWI and changes in gender roles, clothing, technology, and medicine. The loss from the war and disease in the wake of the war are depicted along with other changes in American life that set the stage for a modern era.
