Historical Markers

Since 1934, the Illinois State Historical Society has erected more than 500 historical markers statewide. Subjects of historical significance to Illinois are co-sponsored by local organizations and supporters. The Illinois State Historical Society coordinates the placement and management of historical markers throughout the state.

Join us on June 8th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM as Debbie Fraedrich, a representative from FamilySearch, shares her knowledge of the FamilySearch online research site as well as what mobile apps and related sites are available for your use no matter where you are.

This FREE event will provide the help you need to get started, or improve your research skills. FamilySearch is a free online research site and is associated with the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. This event will allow you to ask questions, take notes, and learn to use the site to your best ability.  Although all answers are not found on line, the tips you will learn, will help you take the next steps to breaking through your most difficult research problems.  You will not want to miss this!

GSSI Library will be open, after seminar, for research until 3:00 p.m.
