Celebrate Abe's birthday by joining us for a day of activities for adults and children. Internationally acclaimed author, storyteller, historian, and naturalist, Brian "Fox" Ellis will perform at 1 p.m. in the historical Courthouse where Lincoln walked and tried cases while riding on the 8th Judicial Circuit. There will be a travelling Civil War exhibit, hands on activities for kids and of course birthday cake!

This Illinois Bicentennial event is perfect for adults and children alike. The program, “Happy Illinois Bicentennial Birthday Bash, 1818-2018”, will be presented by actor Terry Lynch of Histories For Kids. This professional program will encompass the early years of Illinois historical happenings as well as some famous Illinoisans. It will be hosted by the Illinois Daughters of the American Revolution Fort Dearborn Chapter of Evanston which was organized in 1894 (with a co-sponsorship by the Skokie Valley Chapter).

In honor of the Bicentennial of Illinois, the Museum is pleased to welcome Dr. G. Logan Miller, assistant professor of anthropology at Illinois State University, who will present a program about the recent archaeological findings at the Noble-Wieting Site this past summer. The program will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 1:00 p.m. in the Museum’s Governor Fifer Courtroom and is free and open to the public.
