Subjects of historical significance to Illinois are co-sponsored by local organizations and supporters. The Illinois State Historical Society coordinates the placement and management of historical markers throughout the state.

“Golden Memories” Christmas Candlelight Tours–C.H. Moore Homestead
Each year, during the holiday season, the C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum is decorated in full Victorian splendor, illuminated by candles, and filled with music. For many it has become a treasured Christmas tradition. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the DeWitt County Museum Association, this year’s theme is “Golden Memories.”

Come celebrate Christmas in a 19th century tradition. Tours of the decorated Pierre Menard Home will be available all three days; a special Evening Celebration will be held on Saturday between 5-10 p.m.; and a Children’s Program will be held on Sunday, 1:30-4:30 p.m.
