Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum Association Each year, during the holiday season, the C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum is decorated in full Victorian splendor, illuminated by candles, and filled with music. For many it has become a treasured Christmas tradition. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the DeWitt County Museum Association, this year’s theme is “Golden Memories.” Tours are self-guided, so visitors may come calling anytime between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and take as much or as little time as desired exploring the historic house, exhibits, and carriage barn. Guests may enter the house at the front door. The Museum Gift Shop, which offers a variety of Christmas items, gift items, candles, books by local authors, and more, will be open during the candlelight tours. Additional parking is available in the lot directly across the street from the mansion. This special candlelight holiday tour is open to the public.
