Sesquicentennial Church and House of Worship Luncheon

Illinois State Historical Society

More than 25 historic Illinois churches and synagogues will be recognized and honored at a luncheon hosted by the Illinois State Historical Society on March 10, 2018. This event is a celebration of faith and community for Illinois houses of worship that have been in continuous fellowship for 150 years or more.

Churches and synagogues from around the state will be honored, including congregations from Albion, Ashmore, Aurora, Bloomington, Chicago, Evanston, Fairmount Township-Pike County, Homer, Kilbourne, Lane, Lincoln, Mascoutah, Mendota, Mokena, Noble, Quincy, Springfield, Sterling, Tallula, and Wapella.

Each recognized Sesquicentennial House of Worship will receive a certificate from the Illinois State Historical Society recognizing its sesquicentennial anniversary and their histories will be recorded at the Society, as well as at the Illinois State Library, to be available for future researchers.

Each recipient house of worship receives one complimentary reservation; additional reservations are $40 each. Tables of eight are available

Preregistration Required (no walk-ins).
