11th Annual Frontier Settlement Day

Friends of the Log Cabin Association

Free Family Event at the Lincoln-era Log Cabin Village in Quinsippi Island Park. View the interiors of 5 of the 6 historic 1800s Structures! See Village come alive! 

1800s Era Activities for the Whole Family! 

  • Take a “selfie” with President Abe Lincoln
  • Hear about religion in 1800
  • Play pioneer games conducted by Quincy Park District and Nauvoo on the Road
  • Learn about chair caning, blacksmithing, rug making, brickmaking, etc.
  • Write on slates and learn about school in 1800s
  • At Village Herb Garden learn what herbs were used for in the 1800s
  • Visit 1835 D.D. Hull Log Cabin - set up like 1800s home
  • Visit the Clat Adams 1800s store
  • Talk to a Civil War nurse
  • See ice cutters used on Quinsippi Bay and other items in the 1850 Herleman Log Cabin
  • Visit 1840s smoke house, used to preserve foods before refrigerators
  • See displays by Native Americans from Standing Bear Council.

Lunch available from the American Legion Post 37 Auxiliary.
