The Korean War National Museum, located in Springfield, IL, will be hosting the next installment of our 2015 Speaker Series on Saturday, June 20th at 2 pm. Attached is a press release about the event. We will be welcoming Darin Miller. Darin Miller has a deep interest World War II and Korean War history. In his free time he volunteers as a living historian at the Illinois State Military Museum and sits on the Illinois National Guard & Militia Historical Society board of directors. Darin also belongs to the Historic Reenactment Society based in Chicago and is a member of the 82nd Airborne 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment Reenactment group. Mr. Miller will discuss the various weapons the soldiers would have been equipped with on the battlefields of Korea. Including, but not limited to, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M1911 pistol, Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), and the Thompson sub machine gun. Guests will have the chance to don white gloves and hold some of the demilitarized pieces talked about. We are continually striving to engage the public in learning, and these events are a great opportunity for your audience to gain a better understanding of a time in world history that is often overlooked. I greatly appreciate your help in our continual effort to inform the public. Previous Article May 26, 2015 Dear Illinois Sesquicentennial Churches: Acclaim Press, in conjunct...
