Author Talk: Dr. Wayne Temple's Newest Book: Lincoln's Confidant

Journalist Noah Brooks first saw Abraham Lincoln in 1856. His news report suggests that both he and the others in attendance at a Lincoln speech were disappointed in the man's physical appearance. However, he also reported that all changed when Lincoln spoke. Brooks then wrote that Lincoln "could not fail to arrest the attention and favorably impress the most prejudiced mind. Dr. Wayne Temple's newest book, Lincoln's Confidant, will be the subject of a talk at Books on the Square at 427 East Washington Street in Springfield at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019.
