Addison Historical Society
Join the Addison Historical Society on Thursday, October 18, 2018 for an informative lecture on "Ten People from Illinois Who Changed the World."
Addison Historical Museum
This Bicentennial exhibit showcases Addison area residents who have served the state of Illinois as public servants from the days of the Civil War all the way to the present. They have served in a variety of roles ranging from Lieutenant Governor to State Senator and Representative. These local leaders came from different ethnic and social backgrounds and professions. Each, in his or her own way, has made a singular impact on the history of Illinois.
On Sunday August 26, the Village of Addison and the Medinah Shriners are co-sponsoring a parade and festival honoring the Illinois Bicentennial.
Book Signing and Talks
Come and meet these award-winning authors. Brian "Bob" Dekle, retired as a prosecutor and law skills professor, will speak about Prairie Defender: The Murder Trials of Abraham Lincoln. Brian Dirck, professor of history at Anderson University, has written six books about Lincoln, including Lincoln the Lawyer and Lincoln and the Constitution.
