Let's Look For Lincoln in Illinois Post Offices

The art in post offices is part of the New Deal Art Project/The Treasury Department Section of Painting and Sculpture (the section of fine arts) created by Franklin D. Roosevelt as a means of creating work for artists and bringing art to the rural population during the Great Depression. The artwork includes murals (oil on canvas and frescos) and sculpture (reliefs and a few freestanding sculptures). This collection of 7 books has photographs of most of the artwork in Illinois. The second book contains artwork depicting Abraham Lincoln's life in Illinois.
