Over the years the Society has accumulated many books and since it is neither a research center nor a lending library, we have created this Store to make these books available for purchase. Most are single title items in like new condition. In addition to books, we are also offering for sale back issues of the Journal of the Illinois State Historical Society and Illinois Heritage, art work, and stationery. All proceeds from these sales will be used to support the Illinois State Historical Society.

This guide features a walking tour map in front of the book and a driving tour map in the back, leading to 45 different sites in the cemetery. Also includes rare black and white photos of the founders, the famous people buried here and historic monuments and headstones. Along with of early Chicago area history and biographies, this guide tells the stories of this historically important burying ground and some of the individuals interred there. Now combined under the Forest Home name, this cemetery is the final resting place for many of the founding families of Oak Park and River Forest, as well as people of national and international importance, including the Haymarket Martyrs, Emma Goldman, and Billy Sunday.
