Established in March 2020, the Illinois History Collaborative at Illinois State Historical Society brings together bright minds with a vision for making a difference in the history community.
The collaborative gives young professionals in the history community the opportunity to connect the past to the present through social, educational, networking, and philanthropic opportunities with the Illinois State Historical Society.
Illinois History Collaborative members are creative, connected, and charitable leaders who come together to support the inspiring mission of the Illinois State Historical Society. Member not only support the Society’s efforts to foster awareness, understanding, research, preservation, and recognition of history in Illinois—they also collaborate to develop impactful and innovative programming in communities across Illinois.

Research
Each year, ISHS awards scholarships to the best and the brightest! Seven deserving high school and graduate students received support last year.
Recognition
Through a variety of annual awards and recognition programs, ISHS recognizes places and spaces of historical significance in Illinois; the historical achievements of Illinois businesses and houses of worship; and significant contributions of individuals to the field of Illinois history.
Publications
With a 121-year history of leading scholarly publications including the Journal of the Illinois State Historical Society and popular Illinois Heritage magazine, ISHS has a longstanding tradition of serious scholarship.
