Event date: 3/4/2021 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Export event

As we mark one year since the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a halt, ALPLM Chief of Acquisitions Ian Hunt takes us back in time for a closer look at previous pandemics, epidemics and other major health crisis. Ian will show rare items from our collection – including those from the “Black Plague,” the years leading up to and during the Civil War, the devastating 1918  pandemic, and the AIDS epidemic – to tell the story of how pandemics and other health issues of the past impacted Illinois, the nation, and the world.

Tales from the Vault is a monthly collaboration between the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, the Illinois State Museum, and the Lincoln Home National Historic Site.

To watch this Facebook LIVE! event, please go to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum Facebook page. Then open the page at the appointed time and scroll to the post highlighting the live event. Once you’re there, simply click on the image and watch the live video stream.
