Summer Music at ALPLM
Live music fills the air with the Springfield Municipal Band playing a variety of popular musical selections to welcome our guests. The band will be performing just outside of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum’s entrance from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Walk Edgewater: Magnolia Glen
This neighborhood is one of Edgewater’s oldest, developed by William H. Cairnduff in 1888 as an addition to J.L. Cochran’s Edgewater. The homes are well cared for and show some interesting architectural details.

This neighborhood is a popular section of single family homes and two-flats developed from some of the Kransz family original farm at the end of the 19th century. In 1903 one architect, A.E. Norman, was hired to build almost two blocks of homes.
Teaching Lincoln's Evolving Views on Race (ALPLM Teachers Workshop)
In this hands-on, interactive session led by ALPLM's Lincoln Historian, Dr. Christian McWhirter, and Director of Education, Heather Nice, participants will engage in a short conversation about historical context before examining a collection of primary sources to evaluate how to teach Lincoln's views on race and slavery.
Stone Mill Museum Historical Marker Dedication
Join us on Sunday July 4, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. for the dedication of the Stone Mill Museum historical marker. The brief dedication will be followed by an open house and refreshments at the museum. The public is invited to attend the celebration.
