**CANCELLED** Lunch and Learn Series: Historic Settlements

**In accordance with COVID-19 related guidance and restrictions issued by the University, state of Illinois and the United States federal government, we regret to announce the cancellation of the remaining programs of the Spring 2020 Lunch and Learn Series co-hosted by the UIS Alumni SAGE Society and the Illinois State Historical Society. This notice of cancellation is for both the April 9 and May 6 programs. You’ll receive notification of the refund process in the near future.

Preservationists Jane and Jesse Boehler will speak on preservation of historic Clayville, Illinois, a mid-1800s settlement that provided nourishment, spirits and overnight accommodations for people and horses travelling the American frontier.
Kim Orth, Executive Director, Nauvoo Tourism Office, will discuss “the other Nauvoo” and its complex history as the “Beautiful Place” settled by Mormons, inhabited by Icarians (French-based Utopian socialist movement) and growth as a regional grape cultivation and wine-making center.
Cost of $25/person includes a hot lunch. Discounted series subscription rate is $65/person. Registration deadline is one week prior to each event.
