In the Beginning: A Look at Sangamon County 200 Years Ago

Sangamon County Historical Society kicks off the county’s 200th Anniversary on January 19, 2021 with the release of a video program on the county's beginning.

Curtis Mann, manager of the Sangamon Valley Collection at the City of Springfield’s Lincoln Library and City Historian, will present “In the Beginning: A Look at Sangamon County 200 Years Ago.” The program will look at the people, landscape, transportation, and government in the area around 1821. It can be viewed on the Society’s Facebook, YouTube and webpage

The Society’s next virtual program will be released Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
