Elaine Evans / Friday, March 25, 2022 / Categories: General News Journal of the Illinois State Historical Society Update Hi. I’m Bob Sampson, the new editor of the Journal of the Illinois State Historical Society. Many of our individual and institutional subscribers have had questions about the Journal. Specifically, why has it not appeared regularly in the past two years? There are several reasons, some related to the fact that for two years the Journal did not have a full-time editor, others stemming from unavoidable problems. The good news is the Journal is on its way back to regular appearing as scheduled. In cooperation with the University of Illinois Press, we have developed a strategy that should by late 2023 result in issues appearing in the same year as the date on the cover. The Fall/Winter 2021 issue will be in the mail by July/August 2022. Due to changes accelerating the production schedule, we expect the Spring 2022 and the combined Summer/Fall 2022 issue to appear this calendar year. The Winter 2022 number is slated for early 2023. Our intent is to have all the 2023 issues in your hands at the expected time. If you have any questions, please contact me at: rsampson@illinois.edu Thank you for your patience.
