Jolliet and Marquette: A New History of the 1673 Expedition

Chart the little-known exploits of Father Jacques Marquette and fur trader Louis Jolliet as they explore the path of the Mississippi River. Zoom info will be sent one day and one hour before the event. Join us for a presentation by author Mark Walczynski as he charts the little-known exploits of Father Jacques Marquette and fur trader Louis Jolliet and their four-month voyage that carried them thousands of miles through the heart of North America to explore the path of the Mississippi River. Prize drawings for Walczynski's book will take place at the end of the session.   This program is available in a Zoom webinar format. A link to the program will be sent one day before the event, with an additional reminder sent one hour before the event. This program is co-hosted by the Fountaindale Public Library and the Illinois State Historical Society.  The mission of the Society is to foster awareness, understanding, research, preservation, and recognition of history in Illinois.
