Members of the Women’s Army Corps (WACs) were the first women other than nurses to serve overseas in World War II. Cyndee Schaffer’s mother, Mollie Weinstein Schaffer, was one of them.

Dining in History is an annual Madison County Historical Society event held at an historic property in Madison County where guests can enjoy a meal and learn about the venue through a program and guided tours. This year the Society is hosting the event at the Old Bakery Brew Company in Alton that is in the former Colonial Bakery building.
