HISTORY CAMP FOR KIDS—A WEEK OF ADVENTURES

A four-day History Camp for Kids will be held July 18-21 at the Center for Educational Opportunities, 201 Staunton Road, Troy, Illinois. Geared for Madison County students aged 9-11, each day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m., and will include a field trip to an historic site in Madison County and history-based learning activities.

Springfield, IL: Debra Ross Coe, State Regent Illinois State Organization National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (Illinois DAR) has announced the visit of Denise Doring VanBuren, President General National Society Daughters of the American Revolution to Springfield, Illinois on Saturday, June 11, 2022.

Steam Threshing Days will be held on August 5 and 6, 2022 at the Illinois Amish Heritage Center near Arthur, Illinois. Hours for the event are 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5 and from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. CDT on Saturday, August 6, 2022.

This limited-time exhibit features the history of aviation in DeWitt County as it spans a century – from the early pioneers of aviation to barnstormers, test pilots, military airmen, commercial pilots, NASA scientists, and more, to present day.
