ISHS Annual Meeting and Annual Awards Luncheon

The ISHS Annual Meeting and Annual Awards luncheon will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Old State Capitol in Springfield.

The Annual Awards Luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the Annual Meeting and Awards presentation immediately to follow. The luncheon will be in the Foundation Room, lower level of the Capitol. After the luncheon we will adjourn to the House of Representatives upstairs for the presentation of awards.

Sacred Heart Church Public Open House

Following a major renovation, Sacred Heart Church is hosting a Public Open House. The church is a 100-year-old Catholic Church with Slovak origins located in Virden. The renovation was aimed at returning the church to its original styling.

La Guiannee at Fort de Chartres

In a traditional New Year’s Eve celebration dating back to 1722, the La Guiannee singers will visit houses and Fort de Chartres in the early French town of Prairie du Rocher and sing for the residents. As part of the tradition, the residents provide refreshments for the singers at each stop.
