The marker is in Brimfield (about 15 miles northwest of Peoria) one block south of US Rt. 150, at the corner of South Madison and East Van Buren. It is mounted on the exterior wall of the church.

Founded by the Rt. Reverend Philander Chase, first bishop of Illinois, 1845. Restored and rededicated by the Rt. Rev. William L. Essex, Bishop of Quincy, November 4, 1945.
